Can the infrared heater be mounted if there are decorative coatings? I have wooden/plastic/suspended ceiling. Can it inflame?

The frame of the Ekostar infrared heater is insulated that allows the use of the heater on any ceilings without the risk of fire. The surface of the ceiling has to have the following features: mounting brake can be used on artifical ceilings when thermal stability of the surface coating is not less than 70 °C and increasing the length of mounting brakes is undesirable with the ceiling height up to 2,5m.

What is a thermostat?

Thermostat is a device that controls temperature.

Thermostat has a built-in or remote (or both) temperature sensor, which is installed in the area free from direct impact of heating devices and provides information on air temperature in the area of location of the temperature sensor.

On the basis of these data, the thermostat controls the heating devices in the room (infrared heaters).

The main functions of the thermostat are mainly the maintenance of comfort thermal mode and energy efficiency.

What is service life of Ekostar Infrared Heaters?

Service life of Ekostar infrared heaters is 25+ years.

What is the impact of infrared heating on humans?

Infrared radiation is almost the same as normal light, the only difference is that the visible spectrum when falling on objects, lights them, and infrared radiation heats. The Sun can be considered the biggest and most well-known radiant; the same heat comes from a heated battery or stove, i.e. infrared (radiant) heat is the closest to nature and biologically perfect. It has nothing to do with hard ultraviolet or X-ray radiation and due to the fact that humans feel the heat radiation and can adjust its effect, is harmless to the body.

What is the correct location of the heaters?

The right location for infrared heaters is on the ceiling near the windows and exterior walls of the premises. This is due to the necessity to block zones of maximum heat loss, which are windows and exterior walls. Installation of infrared heating systems in the center of the premises or elsewhere is wrong and is only allowed when creating local heating zones (e.g, heating of working spaces at product facilities or warehouses).

What is the difference between infrared and convector heaters?

During the operation of conventional heating systems, the heat is transferred from the heated battery through the air inefficiently because it is hard to imagine the least heat carrier than the air. Long-wavelength system excludes such disadvantages. Heat rays directly heat the floor, walls, objects from which the heat is transferred to the air. This form of heat transfer significantly reduces the cost of energy. Application of thermostatic devices allows you to save to the highest extent.

Convection heating systems (convection heaters, radiators, oil heaters) heat the air, warm airstream moves up to the ceiling, leaving the cold air below. As a result, most of the heated space is overhead, which is usually not an area of human activity. In rooms equipped with convection heating, air is usually heated to 20C ° at the level of the person`s head so that the floor-level air temperature is 18C° . Long-wave heating at such temperature of the floor allows the temperature at the level of the head to be 17C°, so there is no need to warm the air in the room at extra 3C°. Infrared rays pass the air without heating it. Heat goes upwards.

Can Ekostar Infrared Heaters be the main heating source?

Ekostar infrared heaters are efficient as the main as well as the additional source of heating. The difference is only in the installed capacity. Apart from this, Ekostar heaters are widely used for creating local heating areas.

What is included with Ekostar Infrared Heaters?

Why the floor temperature is higher if the heat goes upwards?

Warm air moves upwards, but the heating radiant (infrared) heating systems primarily heat the solids, and only then the air. The property of the air to move upwards does not prevent the floor to be 1-2 times warmer than the air.

Is their any difference between "infrared" and "long-wave"?

The term "infrared" is more general and indicates the type of heating in the broad sense of the word, the term "long-wave" specifies the type of infrared heating and indicates that this infrared heater works in the long-wave infrared spectrum.

Why the estimate is made for the capacity of the premises, but not the square?

This approach is explained by the fact that during radiant (infrared) heating the air is not cooled, therefore, to heat the room, there is no need to warm up all inside air. Infrared heaters warm the air but not the surface of objects that the heat rays fall on. This is primarily the floor and walls of the room. This principle is called the direct electric heating.

How does the height of the premises affect the choice of the infrared heater?

The height of the heated space affects the selection of Ekostar models. For instance, it is not recommended to use 600 W infrared heaters on residential premises with a ceiling height of over 3.5 m. Because rays emitted by a low-powered infrared heater dissipate before reaching the floor. On the contrary, if to place 2 kilowatt infrared heater to a height less than 2.7 m, you will feel uncomfortable due to excessive heat.

How effective is an infrared heater compared to other heating systems?

Infrared heater does not heat the air, but heats the floor, walls, house structure, furniture and other home furnishings. Radiators, convectors and fan heaters as well as other types of traditional electric heating do not create such an effect, so their efficiency is lower. House structure, floor and walls retain heat for a long time, unlike the heated air, and will give it even if the infrared heater is already turned off.

How energy saving is achieved with Ekostar heaters?

Firstly, energy saving is achieved, by the principle of operation of electric infrared heaters: infrared rays do not heat the air, which quickly disappears from the room, instead they heat walls, floor and entire area. Due to this, in its turn, the air heats the premises and accumulated interior thermal energy will be transferring to the room atmosphere for quite a long time, so the electric infrared heater can be turned off by the thermostat at a given temperature, but the temperature will remain at a certain level for quite a long time, and then the thermostat will turn on the infrared heater again when the temperature falls below the programmed one for 1-2 C.

Will 1kW heater use 1kW per hour?

Infrared heaters will not work constantly when radiant heating system is properly designed and installed using thermostats. Most of the time, infrared heaters will not operate switching on occasionally to maintain the temperature.

What is the role of the thermostat in energy saving?

The thermostat plays the most important role. It is due to a temporary shutdown of the electric connection of an infrared heater when there is no need to continue its operation. Upon reaching a preset temperature the thermostat turns off the heater and when the temperature falls below the preset one, f the thermostat turns on the heater thereby maintaining a predetermined temperature in the room.

How much electricity do Ekostar heaters consume?

During cold season the average operation of infrared heaters shall be 20-30 minutes per hour. In other words, the consumption of the energy by the heating system will be from 1/3 to 1/2 of the set capacity of infrared heaters. More precise calculation can be provided by thermal technological estimate.

Why infrared heaters are easier to manage than radiators?

The reason of difficult manageability of radiators is their heating power. The long period of time is required to heat/cool the radiator. Comparing to radiators infrared heaters are ready for operation almost immediately and after switching them off heat energy flow rather rapidly decreases.

What is the main benefit of infrared heaters use for production facilities/warehouses?

The main benefit of using infrared heaters for heating plants, warehouses or hangars is no need for costly distribution systems coolants (laying pipes, ducts, installation dispensing heads and radiators). The infrared heating has the benefit of local heating of the working space and there is no need to heat up the entire building regardless of its height.

How is energy saving achieved with Ekostar infrared heaters for production facilities/warehouses heating?

Saving of energy by use of infrared heaters to heat production plant or warehouse is achieved mainly due to the possibility of establishing local heating areas; hence energy costs will only go for heating up the living space. When using Ekostar infrared heaters as the primary heating source for hangar, workshop or warehouse savings are achieved through high efficiency infrared heaters and the principle of their operation.
